Doran Racing's Drivers Are Optimistic
For Tomorrow's Race at Lime Rock

LAKEVILLE, Conn., May 23 — The starting grid for Saturday's Continental Tire SportsCar Challenge (CTSCC) Grand Sports race at Lime Rock Park will be set by the current point standings. IMSA officials turned Friday afternoon's scheduled qualifying session into a third practice session instead due to rain.

Doran Racing's #14 Nissan NISMO 370Z RC driven by Brad Jaeger of Charlottesville, Va. and B.J. Zacharias of Cincinnati is currently ninth in the point standings, while the #41 Tower Events Nissan 370Z co-driven by John Farano and David Empringham of Toronto is 15th. One car that is ahead of the #41 isn't on the entry list for Lime Rock, so the #41 may be 14th when the official starting grid is posted.

The weather forecast for Saturday calls for a 50 percent chance of showers with a high of 66 degrees Fahrenheit and a low of 49.

The #14 was eighth in the first practice session with a lap in 57.615 seconds (95.600 miles per hour), while the #41 was 22nd in that session with a 59.532 (92.522 mph).

The Lebanon, Ohio-based team's Nissans were together on the time sheet after the second practice session. The #14 was 11th with a 58.060 (94.867 mph) and the #41 was 12th with a 58.144 (94.730 mph).

In the third session in the rain the #41 was 15th with a 1:06.603 and the #14 was 18th with a 1:07.802.

"Our car was quite good in the dry, and we're optimistic for tomorrow," Empringham said.

The two-hour-and-30-minute GS race on the 1.5-mile, seven-turn road course is scheduled to get the green flag at 2:15 p.m. Saturday. Live timing and scoring is slated for imsa.com.
